Wednesday Business Connection

The mission of the WBC Forum committee is to provide an opportunity for business to network with each other, market products and expand their knowledge of the Bay Area business climate. The Forums focus on the positive aspects of doing business in Oregon’s Bay Area. Speakers and subject matter include new businesses moving to the area, business expansions, and issues or items that can impact your operations.
The WBC is held every Wednesday from September through May, from 11:30 to 1:00 pm in the Salmon Room at the Mill Casino-Hotel. Besides the main presentation, there is also a 5 minute speaking opportunity to allow for additional businesses to introduce themselves, their products or events. Lastly there is always time for general announcements, staff introduction and special event information during the “what’s new” open mic segment of our luncheon. To find out what’s on this week please use our events calendar on this website.

Leadership Coos

OBJECTIVES…….Leadership Coos is designed to develop leaders and to provide a comprehensive, objective awareness of our community in action.  The program has been developed with the goal of acquainting participants with local aspects of the community-from city, state, county and federal government issues – via a series of topics, tours and speakers.

PROGRAMS….One day per month for nine months (September through May) participants attend seminars, tours, and briefings which expose them to the issues and opportunities within our community and challenge them to become involved in decision making in political and community organizations that match their areas of interest.  Sessions are led by selected leaders from both local and statewide fields that acquaint participants with a wide variety of subjects including ( but not limited to) local transportation issues, emergency services, communications, education, business and industry, health and human services.

BENEFITS TO YOUR BUSINESS…
When participants return to your workplace they:
Enrich your business or organization by their comprehensive understanding of the community.
Promote your business or organization as forward-thinking and community-minded.
Make better, more informed business decisions knowing how things work within the community.

PREPARING LEADERS…
* Participation in Leadership Coos is designed to identify and motivate emerging leaders and develop their potential for community leadership by exposing them to the realities, issues and opportunities of our area.
* Private citizens, as well as individuals from any community group, agency or company are welcome to participate in the Leadership Coos program. Participants and their organizations must be willing to commit the necessary time for participation in the program.

Business after Hours

These events are held the last Wednesday of each month from 5 pm to 7 pm. This is a festive social opportunity for business networking in a relaxed atmosphere of after work refreshments.
For the Business owner it is your chance to feature your business, your staff and your products or services to an interested public. Half way through the evening, the owner gives a brief description of what sets their business apart. Tours are also a valuable touch to the event. Average attendance ranges from 40 to 80. Greeting and hosting duties are supported by the Chamber Ambassadors.
Here is an excellent two part opportunity. For member businesses you get to showcase your operations to the business community. For members it’s an evening to meet and connect with old and new friends, share information on your operations and form stronger relationships.
