Golden Acrylics Lecture and Workshop
7:00pm
Coos Art Museum
Corrine Lommis Dietz
Innovation and new technology are changing the options for art exploration! This demo packs a ton of valuable information about Golden acrylics! Understanding the properties of acrylic binder and pigments, allows you to control the paint and mix clean color. Discover transparent hues that lend themselves to glazing and the pigments which readily lay down opaque color fields. Learn the unique qualities of "fluid" & "heavy body" acrylics for thin, flat applications to thick impasto paint. The many gels and mediums offer control of the paints brilliance, saturation and viscosity. Extending paint with the mediums and gels will save money without sacrificing the integrity of the color. Learn about he new "open" acrylics! They stay wet on your palette for days and handle beautifully for slower, wet into wet applications and blending. You will quickly realize how to integrate them with other Golden paints and gels to speed the drying time when needed. The working artist will also introduce three new digital grounds for those who wish to mix more media! These new receptive coatings create options to incorporate digital imagery and/or print on non-traditional surfaces such as metal, plastics and fiber with your ink jet printer! In this fast paced Lecture you will see many examples of these materials and techniques put to use. Golden Artist colors offers free literature packets and wet samples to each person reregistered for this lecture/demonstration. 30 attendees max, pre-registration required. Lecture fee: Free to CAM members ; $5.00 to non-members
