Wednesday Business Connection (WBC) Luncheon February 1st , from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, will feature a presentation by David and Shirley Bridgham, Friends of Shore Acres , looking at the successes of the Friends of Shore Acres organization and Holiday lights at 25 years.The WBC Luncheons in February are sponsored by the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay . The Annual Chamber Awards Banquet--"Putting the Pieces Together for a Better Local Economy", Saturday January 28, 2012. Congratulations to the Citizen of the Year--Bill Lansing, the Business of the Year--Englund Marine Supply, Presidents Award winner Al Pettit, and Ambassador of the Year--Carol Yardley. Community Award winners were: the Coos Bay Volunteer Firefighters, North Bend Volunteer Firefighters, Charleston Volunteer Firefighter, the Coos Basin Amateur Salmon Derby and South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve. Congratulations to all those honored.
