Bay Area Hospital (541) 269-8111, a 172-bed publicly owned acute care facility, is the largest on the Oregon Coast and serves as a regional referral center.
The hospital has more than 130 physicians on its medical staff, 1,000 employees and 100 volunteers. They are governed by a five-member elected Board of Directors and offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The hospital’s inpatient and outpatient services include medical, surgical, mental health, pediatric, critical care, home health, oncology, obstetrical and other specialties. New and expanded medical services include laser treatments, MRI, CT, mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and laparoscopy procedures. The expanded Radiation Therapy Center provides cancer patients with radiation treatments, surgical intervention and chemotherapy. Physicians, nurses and technologists are on duty 24 hours a day to meet the medical and emergency needs of south coast residents and visitors.
The community’s health services are further enhanced by two major medical group practices and many private practitioners and specialists. Two of the more primary clinics in the area are the Bay Clinic and North Bend Medical Centers as well as other specialized Medical Facilities.
